T.A.C.O Rules
- Players will not be paired until they check in.
- Check in occurs when payment is received or player arrives on site.
- Players who are running slightly behind can call Jeff to arrange to be paired for round one. This may be done before 9:50am.
- Pairings will be produced at 9:50am. Late arriving players will receive a half-point bye.
- Players are entitled to one optional half-point bye which must be requested upon entry.
- If a section has fewer than six entrants, the whole section will be moved to the smaller neighboring section
- Smaller sections may have prizes prorated compared to the rest of the sections.
- Class prizes will be eliminated for sections of 6-8 players.
- No blitz games permitted in the tournament hall until after all games are complete.
- $25 fine for paying with a bad check.
- Players forfeiting without proper notification will be fined $10.
- The $10 fine goes to the player receiving the forfeit win.
- Forfeiting player will not receive a refund on his EF.
- Forfeit vilolations, Each violation will be retracted upon completion of or legal withdrawal from four straight tournaments entered.
- 1st time = Fine only
- 2nd time = Fine and warning
- 3rd time = Fine and 6 month suspension
- 4th time = Fine and 2 year suspension
- 5th time = Permanent ban from RTCC events
- Crosspairing players will be preferred. All house games will not count in standings. You still get a full-point bye.
- If there is still an odd man out, a spectator (USCF member of course) will be next in line.
- If there are no spectators then the TD is next in line, this game will be Game/70.
- Odd player has the right to decline a house game.
- If your cell phone rings during the course of your game then the following penalties occur:
- First offense of tournament: 25% Time penalty (Maximum 10 minutes)
- Second offense of tournament: Forfeit of game. (Unlike withdrawal violations, the first forfeit does not incur the $10 fine.)
- Penalty for declining to keep score will be an automatic deduction of 5 minutes from you clock at the beginning of your game. (exception being for the physically impaired.) Also you will forfeit the rights to certain claims as defined by the USCF rulebook
