GREATER
Saturday and Sunday February 16-17
Play for the title of Charlotte Champion in one of three
separate divisions…Championship (1800+), Amateur (1400-1799), and Booster
(1399-below). Be a part of what will become a new tradition in Charlotte area
chess. Winners will receive a beautiful trophy. All participants will receive a
great gift bag compliments of Chess Central and a one-year membership in the
new Queen City Chess Association.

This is the KICKOFF EVENT for the NEW QUEEN CITY CHESS
ASSOCIATION. Note that there are NO CASH PRIZES for this event. ALL PROCEEDS of
the tournament will be used to fund the organization, which will be run on a
not-for-profit basis by the officers of the Queen City Chess Association.
Weekly club meetings with rated chess plus other chess related activities will
begin the week following this tourney. See the website at www.queencitychess.com for more
details. This tournament is open to all, regardless of location…all must be
members of the QCCA..but, I guess we’ve got that covered for this year!
